I think the cannibals looked scarier and gnarlier than the sequels. The character design made it seem less human which gave them a unusual look.

In an alternate universe out there somewhere: The Wrong Turn franchise makes more sense, takes more time developing the characters's storylines and arcs, doesn't completely disregard the movie before the next, also the cannibals from Part 2 are included in Parts 4, 5 and 6. As well as all seven of the films have the same continunity together since there is no reboot... PS: Parts 4 and 5 are prequels to Parts 1, 2 and 3. Alternate Universe: Parts 4, 5 and 6 are prequels to Parts 1, 2 and 3. Part 7 is a direct sequel to the first film.

So someone edited the info about WT6 segment on One Eye's article and it was just amazing but it was recently changed so I decided to post the amazing segment of One Eye in WT6

In the sixth installment, One Eye returns with his three brothers when an inheritance leads a young man and his friends to Vietnam to pick up the hooker they must kill to get the money they owe krembel, Meanwhile Hobbs Springs, mace windu and Patrick Star, together they venture out into the jungles of Vietnam in a bid to ”find themselves “ end up getting high on the poppy seeds they found and get addicted to heroin. 1 year later Hobbs dies of penile necrosis because he used expired soda instead of medicines 3 months prior and ended up attracting flies, mace windu and Patrick “grieve over their comrades death ” while playing sweet “home Alabama” at his shallow grave they dug with spoons. The cops find them and take them in for their pimping and sexual assault and various drug deals including a new one made of opium and cocaine, the next day mace windu gets captured by a “testicle monster” and sent to “time jail” for possessing a cube of a fungus that gives everyone 4th dimensional powers including immortality, he is thrown in a cell with a 4th dimensional Bill Cosby and ”Jared from subway” where he is raped forever. Patrick all alone joins the the Navy seals and tracks down the son of Donald trump and Osama and no scopes him. 10 years later he meets one eye and does an epic lightsaber duel and chops off his head. 5 years later in his mansion Patrick is stress drinking his son shoots him with a nerf dart and in a flashback fueled reflex smashes the bottle of whisky on his sons head.
